Celebrate Independence Day with Grilling – Healthy Keto Menu

Independence Day is the perfect time to show your gratitude for America, enjoy a cookout with friends and family, and express your gratitude. It's especially true if you are using a healthy Keto menu.

You may worry that you won't be able to enjoy your favorite foods while in the Keto Zone if you are new. We've put together a healthy menu for keto and some keto tips.

We've also included patriotic items in red, blue, and white. This menu is more than just boring sodas and hot dogs that are bad for your health. Here is our Health Keto Menu to celebrate Independence Day!

Healthy Keto Menu on Independence Day

1. Appetizers

There are so many options for keto appetizers. You can usually keep them low carb if you add vegetables and healthy fats.

Try these unique grill appetizers:

Shishito Peppers- Toss two cups of shishitos peppers in 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Peppers can be placed in a cast iron skillet over a medium heat on the grill grates or side burners (if you have them). To blister, move the tongs around. Before serving the peppers as an appetizer or a side dish, season them with 2 tablespoons of olive oil, 1 teaspoon coarse salt and 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground pepper.

This dish is good for 4 people and only has 1 gram of net carbs per serving.

Patriotic Salad Want to enjoy healthy keto dishes that look festive? Try our blueberry, basil, tomato, and mozzerella salad! Slice 6 small tomatoes into discs and add 1 pound of fresh mozzarella. Arrange the discs on a large plate (a white platter is ideal). Add 10 to 15 leaves of basil and 1 cup of blueberries. Add 3 tablespoons extra virgin olive and 2 tablespoons of balsamic vinegar. Sprinkle salt and pepper according to taste. Serve at room temperature.

2. MAIN DISHES

Grilled meat and healthy fats are great for staying in the Keto Zone. Be careful with seasonings and sauces. Here are some great options:

Beef : Keto Zone Baconburgers. Who can resist a bacon-topped burger served with crunchy lettuce at a cookout. This bacon burger is low in carbs, with only 2.5 grams per serving. It's a great option for a summer grill dinner.

Chicken or, for an alternative to red meat, our Chipotle Garlic Drumsticks. They are packed with protein and spices, but only have 3 grams of net carbs in each serving.

Seafood - Want to grill salmon on the grill? Great! Salmon is a great source of omega-3 fats that are anti-inflammatory, as well as protein. Each 3-ounce serving has 273 mg EPA, and 948 mg DHA. Keto Zone Cedar Plank Grilled Salmon is a tasty main dish.

Meatless Option Try Grilled portabella mushrooms with Mozzarella if you are a plant-based Keto eater. This dish is tasty and nutritious, and only contains 2 grams of net carbohydrates.

Tip: No matter what main dish you choose, keep in mind these tips to keep it Keto-friendly:

  • Beware of sauces, rubs and seasonings. Some are excellent, like those that use only butter, lemon juice and olive oil with salt and pepper. Some contain a lot of sugar. It's best to check the nutrition label and recipes to avoid marinades with high carbohydrate content or rubs that are loaded with sugar.
  • Keto Zone BBQ Sauce is a delicious recipe for BBQ sauce.

3. VEGETABLES AND SIDES

As long as you stay away from starchy vegetables, they can be a great source of nutrition and are keto-friendly. Here's how you can enjoy them in the Keto Zone.

"Potato" Salad- Enjoy the potato salad you love with our Keto Zone Cauliflower Salad. It's more than just potatoes. It contains fiber, detox nutrients and antioxidants.

Grill some vegetables. Prepare vegetables by cutting eggplants, zucchini, yellow squashes, onions, and bell peppers into long strips. Be sure to remove any ends. Trim 1 bunch of thick asparagus. All the vegetables should be tossed with 2 tablespoons of olive oil, 1 tablespoon sea salt and 1-2 teaspoons of freshly ground black pepper. Place the vegetables on your grill. Close the lid and grill until all surfaces are lightly charred. This should take about 5 to 7 minutes. Dress with 2 more tablespoons of olive oil, and serve. Just 4 grams of net carbohydrates.

4. KETO ZONE COOKOUT DRINKS

What would a barbecue be without delicious refreshing drinks? Lemonade or sweet tea are both acceptable.
